Three Easy Ways to Update the Front of Your Home
January 13, 2015
Any homeowner who has gotten the remodel itch knows how expensive it can be to start making updates around the home. One of the easiest ways to start changing things around the home is to actually start outside, with the front yard and the entrance to your home. When it comes to outdoor updates, one small change is going to make a big difference. Here are three ways to do it.
1. Add a Walkway
One way to update the exterior of your home is to add a walkway. This might be from the porch to the street or from the porch to the driveway. There are also a number of different ways to get a walkway — from bricks to stones, a cement pour, or even just stepping stones — so you’re sure to find something that aesthetically suits your home and serves its purpose within your budget.
2. Have Custom Fencing Installed
Another easy way to update your home and make a big difference in the look of the front of your home is to add a fence. There are a number of different fence styles, so it really depends on the look you want and the level of privacy you want from your fence. One of the most common fence types is wooden fences. Wood fencing can be pretty much any height you’re looking for, and can always be painted or stained in the future if you get the urge to make another change.
3. Build a Screened-In Porch
If you already have a fence and a walkway, you might want to consider adding a screened-in porch to your home. This is probably the biggest project on the list, but it’s also the only one that’s going to create an additional usable space for your home, which is perfect for entertaining or enjoying the weather.
