Taking A Much Closer Look At The Importance Of Flooring Options
January 2, 2019
Flooring is an important part of any building – of any home. And for the typical home owner, the options for flooring are truly vast. After all, flooring options range from tile flooring to hardwood floors, from soft carpets to vinyl flooring. There is truly a flooring option out there for just about everyone, flooring that comes in at all price points and flooring choices that are ideal for various rooms over others.
For instance, kitchen flooring is important, as it must be durable and easy to clean as well as quite aesthetically pleasing. After all, nearly three quarters (just over 71%, to be more specific) of all people who are renovating their kitchen spaces will actually also choose to redo the flooring in these kitchens as well. In most cases (up to 90% of them, as a matter of fact), people will choose hard floorings, such as ceramic tile or wood, for their kitchen spaces. This is very much due to the fact that flooring such as tile floors is vastly easier to clean than flooring like carpeting, which can stain far more easily and is less than ideal in a space like a kitchen, where food of all natures is prepared and spills and stains are much more likely to occur than in other spaces throughout the home.
But if tile or hardwood is too expensive of an option, there are still alternatives to carpet flooring for spaces in the home such as kitchens and bathrooms. For instance, laminate flooring can very much mimic the appearance of tile flooring for a mere fraction of the price. The same can be said for vinyl floors, which provide a great option for people who love the look of hardwood flooring but are not particularly sold (no pun intended) on the price of them, which can really be quite high, all things considered.
For the family that is looking to soon sell their home, however, updating to high quality flooring, even if it is more expensive, can actually pay off quite dramatically at the end of the day. Aside from tile flooring, hardwood flooring is particularly prized over floors such as laminate floors and vinyl floors. In fact, many a prospective home buyer is actually looking quite intently for the presence of hardwood floors in the homes that they peruse, with very nearly 55% of all home owners to be willing to actually pay more money for a home that has hardwood floors throughout.
But just because hardwood flooring is so prized does not make it the be all and end all of flooring. After all, many people actually prefer carpet flooring options, particularly in bedroom spaces. In fact, this is so much the case that is currently holds true for more than 40% of all home owners – around 44%, to be just a little bit more exact. After all, carpet installation can provide a greater sense of coziness and comfort to a room, something that is quite ideal for your typical bedroom space, where such aspects are prized over much else. It can also even be ideal for simply getting out of bed in the morning on cold days, providing just a little bit of extra warmth and making things such a little bit easier on particularly difficult mornings, as all of us will deal with at some point or another.
For many people, choosing flooring can be a complicated process, as there is simply so much to choose from. From tile to vinyl to carpeting to hardwood to even bamboo flooring (which has proven to be a viable and eco friendly alternative to many hardwood flooring options), there are so many options to make a final choice out of, something that can be seriously overwhelming, to say the least. In many cases, it will simply come down to price, as going over a budget is certainly not something that is desirable by any means. Fortunately, there are many flooring options out there for all price points, making finding the right flooring possible and probable for just about anyone out there looking at flooring options here in the United States.
